A Daydreamers Journey: A Poem for the Soul
A Daydreamer's Journey: A Poem for the Soul
_by a Sixth-Grade Student_
Once upon a time, in a world not so far away,
Lived a child, a dreamer, with eyes that could see beyond the day.
His name was Ethan, and he wandered through life,
With a heart full of wonder, and a mind that could not be confined.
He dreamed of the stars, and the oceans so vast,
Of mountains that touched the sky, and forests that lasted.
In his dreams, he flew like an eagle, high above the trees,
Where the wind whispered secrets, and the sky was his only need.
He saw the world in hues of gold and blue,
Where every sunset painted a canvas anew.
But sometimes, his dreams were not so bright,
Where shadows loomed large, and fears came to haunt his night.
He wondered about life, its ups and downs,
And the mysteries that lay beyond his understanding.
But still, he kept dreaming, and kept on believing,
That one day, his dreams would come true, and he'd be living them.
For Ethan knew that dreams were not just for fun,
But bridges to new worlds, where imagination could run.
So he held onto them tight, like a treasure chest,
For they were his compass, his guide through life's test.
One day, as he stood by an apple tree,
A thought crossed his mind, like a gentle breeze.
He realized that every dream he'd ever had,
Was a part of himself, a piece of his soul that had grown mad.
And so, he began to write down his thoughts,
In a journal by his bedside, where they could be found.
He poured out his heart, and his soul's desire,
For in those pages, he found a new fire.
He wrote about the wonders of nature,
And the beauty that lay hidden in every corner.
He spoke of love and friendship, and how they shone bright,
Like stars in the night, guiding us through life's darkest plight.
And then one day, as he read back what he'd written,
He saw that his words had come alive; they'd grown and been grown.
For in those pages, he'd found his voice,
And with it, a way to express his soul's choice.
He realized that every dream he'd ever had,
Was a part of himself; it was who he was made.
So Ethan continued to write, and to dream on,
For in his journey, he found that poetry was his home.
And as he grew older, his words became more profound,
Reflecting the wisdom of life's journey that he had found.
He shared his poems with others too,
And they too found solace in the words that he'd choose.
For in Ethan's poems, they saw themselves reflected,
And felt less alone in their own struggles and battles.
So if you ever meet a child who seems lost in thought,
Or a young person who dreams of worlds not yet found,
Remember Ethan's story – for each one of us is a poet too,
Just waiting for the right moment to let our souls speak through.
